Well he attempted his first day back at school yesterday, he only made it 2 hours. I talked to his teacher and school nurse today and they said they felt bad for him. He tries to be so tough. He has been so great with this whole experience and so has Jess. She has tried to be so helpful and it is moments like this that I realize how blessed I truly am. I have the best kids in the world. My days are so tiring and sometimes it is all I can do to wake up in the morning and start over again.
Part of J's problem yesterday was his sling. It slipped and got loose and than he got a burn on his neck from the strap. I felt so bad for him. So we gave him a little time and told him it is ok to get tired and not make it through a whole day yet. So today we started new. I got him a different sling that had velcro and a padded neck strap. I was so excited when it was noon and I hadn't heard anything from the school. His teacher emailed me and said he was doing so much better than yesterday but this sling was still a bit of a challenge.
J made it all the way until 2pm today. I was so excited and proud. He is such a troooper. It took us a long time to convince him to ask for medicine at the hospital if he was hurting and now we are trying to convince to do something that can cause pain. Parents I say!!!
Tomorrow they have a short day so I am hoping beyond hope that he does well.
He has done so well with all of this and Jess has been just as supportive. I am very proud of my them.....

Well he didn't get to be home as soon as they planned or J had hoped but he is home. He spiked a fever last night and they needed it to be gone for 12 hrs before he got to go home. He still isn't eating like he normally does but he is taking his meds and comfortable. We are just happy that he is mostly well and he is doing well. Very happy to have him back at home. He is too. He is resting comfortably and just lounging on the couch. Thank you to everyone for your well wishes and prayers. We have sent them all onto J.
